Mandarin Oriental Milan

The brand new Mandarin Oriental Milan opened its doors in last July amid the buzz for being the first hotel of the Asian hospitality group in Italy. It’s ideally located in four buildings of the eighteenth century in the heart of Milan, but its main entrance stands on a pretty reserved street with little traffic. The main points of interest of the city are all within walking distance of the hotel such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the Duomo, the Fashion Quadrangle, the Sforza Castle and the famous opera house La Scala. When we reach the main entrance, we see the reception area is quite elegant and cozy with fireplace and armchairs around the site. The decoration of its interior is very contemporary and, being Milan the capital of design, of course it was given an extra special attention to decorative details of the various environments that mix Milanese features with oriental touches. The hotel also has a special charm because of its two inner courtyards.

Rooms & Suites

The rooms and suites have a contemporary and chic decor, maintaining the essence of Mandarin Oriental with characteristics that are also seen in other units of the group worldwide. They may overlook the internal courtyard or the historic streets of Milan.

Bar & Restaurant

There is no doubt that Mandarin Bar is the heart of the hotel. With decorative geometric patterns in black and white, it’s a very charming place for drinks and appetizers. It’s also attended by locals and not only by guests, which ultimately gives a much more vibrant atmosphere to the place. The restaurant Seta, in turn, has an award winning chef and has a separate entrance for its customers. Its greatest charm, however, is the inner courtyard with typical Milanese features.

Mandarin Oriental Milan has the most complete line of spa treatments in Milan, which makes it a great option for those wishing to relax and take time to enjoy the hotel while in the city. In addition, it has a well-equipped gym and a swimming pool. As Milan is a city quite focused on business, the hotel also offers to its guests some conference rooms for meetings.

Considerations

The location is one of the most positive aspects of Mandarin Oriental Milan once the hotel is pretty close to one of the entrances of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Another important aspect is the fact that it’s a very lively place attended also by locals and not only by guests. Mandarin Bar is very lively and a great option for a night out in Milan.
